Quizzes

Each class begins with a short five-point quiz to motivate you to do your reading(s) each week.

It never asks for “facts” or the memorization of content, but tests your general understanding of the article(s) assigned.

Quite often, it consists of a single line: “What did X mean by… ?” or “What does Y argue?”

Everyone is allowed to miss one quiz per term without penalty.

The quizzes may also include a quick definition of pertinent vocabulary found in the readings, and correct answers get bonus points.
